8 There was a man all alone;
he had neither son nor brother.
There was no end to his toil,
yet his eyes were not content with his wealth.
“For whom am I toiling,” he asked,
“and why am I depriving myself of enjoyment?”
This too is meaningless—
a miserable business!
9 Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:
10 If one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
This will sound totally strange, but I got the idea for this blog from reading an ESPN blog on NBA contracts. Yes, that’s what I did while I ate my lunch. Anyway, as I poured through parts one and two of this story (the man is funny, what can I say?), all I could think about was how all these guys are being graded on their individual performances and a big number of them were on struggling teams. Which means that they are getting paid an ignorant amount of money and they aren’t really helping their teams win. And if the truth is really being told somewhere, I’m sure these guys have teammates that don’t really like them for these very reasons. No matter what people say, it’s not fun being ‘THAT’ guy.
Now most of us in this ‘worship world’ aren’t making millions. Many of us aren’t even making many thousands, but you can’t tell by the way some of us act. We seem to get so involved with ‘making it’ or whatever it is that we seem to do a horrible job of working together. However, this isn’t the subject or focus of this post, so I’ll run away from it. The focus is this; as Christians, whether we are musicans or ushers or deacons, need to be focused on working together to bring God the glory He deserves. Now, I am not writing as one who is upset about anything or someone who got snubbed by another musician when trying to work with them or anything like that. I’m just speaking as a man who has spent a lot of time walking this Christian walk alone. I know that some of that has been my fault and I accept that. However, I know that I was not meant to walk this thing alone. I am currently calling out to anyone else that feels the same way. I want to be part of something greater.

Your not alone. In fact you never are, I’m here if you need something and I know others are as well. Would you ever be interested in a mens small group?
