You’re Indispensible

Even as I’m writing this it’s hard for me to write this. No one wants to hear that. Ever. We all want to feel wanted and important. The last thing we need to hear is that someone else can do what we do. When it comes to being a musician, we are divas. Even when we are worship leaders and Christian musicians, we are still divas. I should work on a word for Christian divas and divos. Anyway, it’s really tough to know that at any moment someone can take your place and do what you’re doing.

Say it with me. I am not that important. I am not that important. I AM NOT THAT IMPORTANT. This is very important. Here’s why I think it is. When you are able to say that to yourself, then you have cleared some space for God to do what He wants to do with you. Ultimately, that’s where we want to be. We want to be in a place where God can use us. God wants to be able to place us where He needs us to be.

I am writing this because I need to hear it. EVERYDAY. I’m writing this because you need to hear it. EVERYDAY. We have to keep this in mind on a daily basis and we can’t forget it.

Here’s the beauty of this concept though. God loves us so much that he chooses to use us. He doesn’t choose us because we’re so amazing. He chooses us because we aren’t the best, and he can shine brightly through us. So when you look around and think that you’re the best one in the room which is why you’re doing what you do, it’s quite possible that you’re the worst. Makes you feel GREAT doesn’t it? God loves ya!
