Worship As Life:
Seeing that this is the first post of the new format, I thought I’d start off by sharing why I do what I do. I have been working hard trying to figure out what this year was going to look like and what it was I felt like I was supposed to share with people. I’ve learned that people will believe in you if you show them that you believe in yourself. That is something that I’ve struggled with on and off this year. I have had times where I totally knew what I was supposed to be doing. Then there were times when I was so lost that I couldn’t even see (even wrote a song with that line in it). But I know why I do what I do and it’s pretty simple; God said so. No matter how many other things I try to do, when it’s all said and done, I am a musician. I am a worship leader. These are things that I am called to do. What’s even cooler, I love doing it! I have tried so many different things over the years, and it all pretty much comes back to music. It also comes back to being a leader and a shepherd and a helper. I spend lots of time talking to other worship leaders and friends about how things work and how to make them work better and how to give God the glory in everything we do. Building this community for other leaders is really exciting to me and I really will be pushing to get this off the ground.
My Mood in Chord Form:
I would have to say that my mood today would be a A2/C#. Now musicians will know right away what that means. But for those of you that don’t, I’ll explain it. This is a rather bright chord musically. The other thing that should be known about this chord is that it’s going somewhere. When it’s played or heard, you know that it’s getting ready to go somewhere else. Right now, I’m excited about where life is going. There are a lot of changes getting ready to happen in my life and the life of my family and I think it’s going to be really cool. So today is a day of anticipation.
Live Out Loud:
My question to you is, why do you do what you do? Is there anything in your life that you can look at and know without a shadow of doubt that it is what you’re supposed to be doing? To go even deeper, even if you are doing something that may not be what you’re called to do, are you giving God glory in whatever it is that you do? These are questions that we have to ask ourselves everyday. Please weigh in on this question and give me some feedback. I’d love to hear from you. Have a great Monday!
